I haven’t really enjoyed any of the films of Joe Lynch. He’s done work on Chillerama and disappointed me in The Knights of Badassdom. That being said, his newest film Everly, looks to give me a renewed faith in the director. The film looks like Leon the Professional meets Kill Bill and starring the ever-lovely, Salma Hayek. Hayek must kill a deluge of assassins because her ex-boyfriend/mob boss is sending them to her apartment. Whatever, the plot means nothing to me, Hayek shooting people does. Check it out below.

Here’s the synopsis:

EVERLY co-stars Togo Igawa (LAST SAMURAI; MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA), Masashi Fujimoto (SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE) and Hiroyuki Watanabe. The Black List script by Yale Hannon is an intense action thriller centered on a down-on-her-luck woman (Hayek) who is forced to fend off waves of assassins sent by her ex, a dangerous mob boss, while trying to save her estranged mother and daughter. The film is set entirely in one apartment, and is based on a concept created by Lynch.

Everly is set to be released VOD and on iTunes January 23rd. It will hit limited theatres on  February 27th. The film stars Salma Hyack Togo Igawa, Masashi Fujimoto, and Hiroyuki Watanabe.
