Greetings Towelites!
First off, Happy New Year! May 2015 bring you all joy and happiness. I thought I would make this a (Not Too) Far-Back Friday and do a little year in review with some of my favorite things to come out of 2015. With that here we go!
Favorite New Artist: Scott Bradlee and Postmodern Jukebox
Postmodern Jukebox became an internet sensation this year with their remakes of several popular songs in the popular styles of the early 20th century. They generally release a new video every week and they are very musically talented and take large steps to make sure the total performance (including visuals, dance, etc.) is really well done. They released several albums this year (I just got a signed copy of their Christmas Album) and will be releasing a new album this month.
Favorite Movie: Guardians of the Galaxy/Big Hero Six
I realize that Guardians of the Galaxy is the really safe pick to take here because basically everyone loved this movie. The acting was top notch, the soundtrack was excellent and fit in well with the movie and story. I’m curious to see how the Guardians team will eventually fit in with the rest of the marvel cinematic universe, but even if it weren’t the team has more than enough to stand on its’ own.
Big Hero Six was a big surprise for me this year, because it was very clearly packaged to be a kids movie. However likes most movies coming from Disney these days, their is a lot for adults to appreciated. Also considering that this is a Marvel and Disney collaboration and it seems only obvious that this would have something everyone would enjoy. The animation was well done, they story was great, I’m looking forward to picking this up on DVD as soon as it comes out.
Favorite Game: Dragon Age – Inquisition
While as far a pure time sink, Destiny would certainly get the prize. I believe that Dragon Age has been the best experience as far as the game, the story, and a great game to talk about with other players. The multiplayer is also interesting and challenging, I hope they will be dedicating more resources into that side of the game in the near future.
What to look forward to?
There is a lot to look forward to in the coming year, here is just a short list of things I am looking forward to:

– Ant Man
– Peanuts
– The new Star Wars Movie
Games:
– Final Fantasy Type-0
– Final Fantasy XV
– The Division
– Fable Legends
