The Electronic Arts game, Dante’s Inferno, is being adapted into a film by Evil Dead director, Fede Alvarez. The film is being produced for Universal and finds Dante reimagined as a Templar knight and follows him as he journeys through the nine circles of Hell in order to reclaim the soul of his beloved Beatrice from Lucifer. Jay Basu is finishing up the final draft of the script, based off of Dante Alighieri’s, Divine Comedy.

The video game has also been adapted into an anime a while back, and it had Mark Hammill as one of the voices. The project is in great hands with Alvarez, especially if he brings the same type of enthusiasm as he did in the Evil Dead remake. As more Dante’s Inferno news comes in, Stay Tuned to DFAT!
