So, what are we going to see next? An Evil Dead sequel directed by Fede Alvarez, or the long-awaited sequel to Army of Darkness? Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell have been playing around with the idea of the latter for YEARS now. Luckily, we’ve been seeing the continuing adventures of Ash in the comics, but what we all want is his return to the big screen!

Over the weekend Campbell had this to say:

[box_light] We have to figure out what we want to do,” he said, “because this wasn’t a huge long term 18 movie plan, you know what I mean? These sequels – remakes, sequels, whatever you want to call them – come out of nowhere.”[/box_light]

Where does that leave us? Well, Fede Alvarez directed the Evil Dead remake and says that Sam Raimi is hard at work at a sequel to Army of Darkness!

[box_light]“The pressure is on them now. Because as far as I know, and heard, Sam is really determined to get Army Of Darkness 2 happening,” he revealed exclusively to Bloody. “He is actually writing [it now].”[/box_light]

Pretty crazy news right!? Last time Raimi did horror, we got Drag Me to Hell. Which, in my opinion, is a perfect horror/comedy. I’ll be happy with either ED2 or AOD2, but either one, let’s hope they get on it soon! As more news comes down about these projects, we’ll keep you posted here at DFAT!
