We first heard that Chuck Palahniuk was working on a Fight Club sequel a while back. At the time he was rumored to be working on a graphic novel with Hawkeye/Sex Criminals writer, Matt Fraction. It seems that there’s been a bit of a change, as it’s officially announced today that Palahniuk is teaming up with artist, Cameron Stewart; and taking the comic to Dark Horse.

Stewart recently has been gaining big notoriety with his revamp of the Batgirl outfit. He’s currently on his way to San Diego Comic Con to talk to fans, as Palahniuk is hard at work on the sequel comic.

Fight Club 2 takes place alternately in the future and the past. It picks up a decade after the ending of his original book, where the protagonist is married to equally problematic Marla Singer and has a 9-year-old son named Junior, though the narrator is failing his son in the same way his dad failed him.

At the same time, Palahniuk says readers will have an idea of Tyler’s true origins. “Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that’s popped into his mind.”

Palahniuk brings back most of the characters in the first book as well as the organization Project Mayhem, which still has its hooks in the narrator as he has to save his boy when the youngster’s life is in peril.

Fight Club 2 is due out in April 2015 and will follow at 10 issue arc. The comics are expected to be “maxi-issues” so who knows just how many pages they will be. I’m super pumped as Palahniuk is my favorite author and he can go so much further with that story. Whose taking bets on when Hollywood wants to do the adaptation? Sound off in the comments!

Also, CBR had a chance to talk to Stewart about the project and you can read more about it HERE.
