Ever since it’s all-too-early demise, Firefly has remained one of the biggest cultural phenomenons of this generation. So much so, we were even lucky enough to have Joss Whedon make the film Serenity for us, just based off of fan outcry.

The show lives on in comic form, but that’s still not enough. Recently, writer/producer of the series Tim Minear sat down with EW and discussed what he would love to see if given the opportunity.

I would never foreclose the possibility. The fact that it was even a feature film after it spectacularly failed on Fox was a miracle. And of course it lives on in other forms. In terms of getting the band back together to make a new adventure, who knows? I would love it. It would be great. But first everybody has their respective projects that limits them from crossing over into other things. It’s just trying to coordinate everybody’s obligations so they could somehow participate.

He also mentioned how series like Arrested Development, can come back in a limited capactiy on Netflix, and see a lot of success.

[box_light]I think a limited series of some kind would work best. Something like that could also work if, say, 20th could partner with Netflix, or another distributor. It would have its home on Fox, of course [then a second window on streaming]. A limited series would do very well, I bet.[/box_light]

I seriously doubt we’ll ever see the cast reunite for anything more than just a picture, but a geek can dream. Keep your Browncoats at the ready, just in case!
