This is just part of the rumor mill as of now, but it’s probably going to be announced in the near future. We recently told you that the blu-ray set was coming out from Paramount, and now it seems that the company wants to go forward with another Friday the 13th sequel. Platinum Dunes, the company who put out the 2009 reboot, will be working with Paramount for the supposed sequel. This is all according to the 2009 star, Derek Mears, in a recent interview at the premiere for Hatchet III.

I spoke to Brad Fuller and he said that the rights are, as everyone knows, over at Paramount and they’re pushing hard. They’re going we want [a new Friday The 13th movie] as fast as possible.

Mears wouldn’t mind donning the hockey mask again either, “…I know they [Platinum Dunes] like me.” He continues, “…look, even if I’m not a part of the series, as a fan I just want to see more.

So, let’s just hope that we see a Jason movie in the next year or so. It’s been too long in my opinion.
