I’ve been a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series since it had the top-down view and you had to run to payphones to get your missions from faceless bosses. But, as the times change and we don’t even have payphones anymore, so do the GTA games. Rockstar looks to be changing even BIGGER in their newest installment, Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar pioneered the idea “open world” gaming and Rockstar says that GTA:V will be their biggest yet. It will be  bigger than Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV combined. The story centers around three men: Michael, a wealthy ex-gangster trying (and perhaps failing) to live out the American Dream; Trevor, a wise-cracking crazy man with a short fuse; and Franklin, a professional repo man.

As Game Informer magazine revealed, “GTAV” will allow players to switch between these three friends and partners in crime and will center around performing heists.

The game is expected out in the Spring of 2013. I’d put that at a tentative date given that Rockstar is notorious for pushing their games back. But when you have a company that very rarely disappoints, I’d say it’s worth the wait. Check out the trailer yourself down below!
