For those of you excited about the relaunch of Heroes, get ready because NBC wants to give you the inside scoop of what events lead up to it. Heroes: Reborn will premiere in 2015 with a whole new story and characters. The mini-series will premiere on NBC.com and will be produced by creator Tim Kring. The series will be broadcast not only on NBC.com but also across other digital formats like Hulu and video-on-demand.
The next question on everyone’s minds is who will be a part of the new series. Word has it that the cast will be composed of new set of people with powers, and may have a cameo or two from the original cast. Actress Hayden Panettiere recently spoke with Cosmopolitan and had the following to say about her returning as Claire.
CM: A lot of readers love your character Claire from Heroes, too, which is returning to NBC in 2015 as a miniseries, Heroes: Reborn. When did you hear it was going to come back? What was your reaction?
HP: Well, it was a shock to me, and, in fact, I believe I became privy to that through my cousin. She sent me a text message and told me about it, and, I mean, we had nothing, nothing to do with it; it will definitely be interesting to see how they reinvent that.
CM: Well, what do you think your character has been up to?
HP: I think it’s a whole new set of characters. Who knows? It’s a little bit of an interesting feeling because you go, “That was our show, our home, our family,” something that we had a major part in creating as well, and, I mean, I hope that they don’t have somebody else playing our characters, that would be a little dagger in the heart. But, you never know. I wish them success in it, for sure.
It is kind of surprising considering that her character was one of the main ones from the original series, “save the cheerleader, save the world”. I guess we will have to wait and see.
