LEGO had a HUGE presence at NYCC this year!!! They premiered their new TMNT series, showed off the upcoming The Hobbit sets, and revealed the packaging for the new DC and Marvel Superhero sets. I am relieved to a certain extent, I am already sold on the new comic-based Batman sets but I feel a little disappointed in the Spider-Man and DKR (not that I would buy anything Dark Knight related anywho) sets that are going to be offered. I feel that Ulitmate Spider-Man is a decent idea to run with, but the Daily Bugle just looks cheap and it shows that LEGO isn’t putting the quality touch into all of their sets, I would expect it to be a larger $100+ set! Oh well, it saves me some cash in the long run. Check out some of our photos of the sets revealed at NYCC and the official press release for TMNT!!

Official Press Release:

The LEGO Group, makers of the world’s leading construction toys, and Nickelodeon, one of the world’s leading entertainment brands for kids, announced today an expansion of their global partnership to develop construction toys inspired by the recently launched CG-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series. The collection is slated to launch in North America and the UK in January 2013 and will roll out in global markets later in the year. The companies have a long-standing relationship and first partnered together in 2006 to create LEGO® SpongeBob Squarepants. Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiered on Sept. 29 and was an instant hit, drawing almost 12 million viewers during its premiere weekend.
