Machete is BACK! Danny Trejo and Robert Rodriguez are back for another round of death-dealing next year in MACHETE KILLS! The first Machete was a movie that I really enjoy. From seeing it’s birth in the Grindhouse trailer, to finally seeing it come to fruition in it’s full-length 2010 release; Machete came in not taking any crap from anyone, and dismembering anyone who tried to go up the MexiCAN with the big ‘ol knives.
Today, we get news of a cast member being added. Latin actor, Marko Zaror (Mandrill), joins the Rodriguez directed bloodbath as the lead bad guy of the film. Zaror will be starring along the rest of the all-star cast including: Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba, and Sofia Vergara. Rodriguez specifically wrote the part for Zaror after watching his films, where he’s been dubbed as the “Latin Bruce Lee.”
Zaror was so pleased to be asked to do the role, he went on to say, “To get a chance to work with Robert Rodriguez was a dream of mine since I saw El Mariachi. He has made some of the coolest characters ever. I am honored to have had the experience to work with him and his exceptional team,” says Zaror.
Machete Kills is expected for a 2013 release and the synopsis for the film is below:
The U.S. government recruits Machete to battle his way through Mexico in order to take down an arms dealer who looks to launch a weapon into space.
I’m sure Robert Rodriguez will end up shooting this movie next weekend with his buddies, along with 2 Sin City sequels. And I can’t wait!
