Maleficent is one of those movies that I’ll go see in the theatre, but I’m not excited. I’m excited for the IDEA of a creepy Disney movie starring Angelina Jolie; but all of the footage we’ve seen so far would make it seem like its just an Alice in Wonderland ripoff.

Regardless, it does have some beautiful imagery. The pictures below from the upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekly give of some stills from the film, as well as Jolie on the cover itself. Check them out below!

Here’s the synopsis:

Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. Richard Stromberg is the Oscar-winning production designer on films like Avatar and Alice in Wonderland and will be making his directorial debut. The film also stars: Sharlto CopleyElle FanningSam RileyImelda StauntonJuno Temple, and Leslie Manville.  Maleficent opens on May 30, 2014.
