Henry Cavill is amping up to be the next Superman in this summer’s blockbuster, Man of Steel coming from DC Entertainment and WB! In a recent interview with Total Film magazine Cavill had some insight to becoming the Big Blue Boy Scout:

The Suit:
“I love wearing the suit! You put it on every morning and you feel fantastic. I mean, you’re wearing a Superman suit, for goodness sake!”

How long did it take to put on the costume?
“It took the team about 15 minutes each day. They struggled hard…let’s just say we became very close!”

What did Cavill plan to accomplish in the role?
“This is not a movie about Zack Snyder directing something, or Henry Cavill playing a character…It’s a selfless movie about a character who is going through what he is going through. He wants to do the right thing, but he’s fallible, like the rest of us. He messes up, and that makes us love him more.”

Is Justice League happening?
” A decision’s being made, I’m sure, post opening weekend!”

Warner Bros recently held a private screening of Man of Steel for the higher ups, crew, and their families, this showing was met with RAVE reviews with people stating that it is the superhero movie of the year! We know that the film needs the hype and to get people excited, because without success we will not see anymore DC movies and we can’t have that can we?! Or do you think this is a little biased?? Nonetheless I have a good feeling about this one and Zack Snyder has not let us down yet!

Toyfair showed off some great Man of Steel swag coming our way soon! We got a great first look at one of Zod‘s soldiers, Faora in plastic form. Her look goes right along with what we’ve seen of Zod so far. In the film Faora is played by actress Antje Traue (Pandorum), here’s the action figure by Mattel:

In the tradition of The Dark Knight Trilogy, it looks as if Man of Steel may be getting the 3 movie treatment itself! With all the rumors of the Justice League and other DC properties being heavily dependent on the success of MOS, including the Batman reboot, WB may use sequels to the latest Superman movie to stall the production of the JL movie. Not a bad idea to expand the universe a little further, even introduce some more characters before dropping a movie with heavy mythos on the public. Could we see a MOS sequel with Wonder Woman showing up, or a battle with Atlantis? Who knows, all I know is that we have a responsibility…..buy tickets to Man of Steel and support the future of the DC movie properties!

Last but not least today though not really Man of Steel news, yet evidence that DC and WB can’t get their shite together, remember all the talk of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson possibly playing Lobo either in a standalone movie or as the bad-ass bounty hunter in the Justice League movie? Forget all that, according to Johnson in an interview with MTV, he is no longer attached and the movie is basically dead.

Man of Steel flies into theaters on June 14th!!

Stay tooned 😛
