Do you know about the Inhumans? I believe they are a missing link in the current movie mythology. Characters that could swing either way in the Marvel movie-verse, the Inhumans apparently belong to the Marvel Studios aka Disney-side of the spectrum. Marvel does a great job with their motion comics, and I am excited to see what’s to come with the upcoming release of Marvel Knights: Inhumans based on the limited series by Paul Jenkins and Jae Lee.

The Inhumans have always been one of Marvel’s most enduring oddities. A race of genetic outsiders, they live secluded in their island kingdom of Attilan, preferring not to mix with the outside world. Even stranger, their genetic mutations are self-endowed; each Inhuman, as a coming-of-age ritual, endures exposure to the Terrigen Mists, a strange substance that imparts unearthly powers — some extraordinary, some monstrous.

But now the kingdom of Attilan is under attack from without and within. Can the Royal Family, led by Black Bolt, repel the foreign invaders who blast at their outer defense, as well as the internal threat of Black Bolt’s insane brother, Maximus the Mad?

This popular series takes a classic Marvel cast of characters, and infuses it with a modern sensibility that includes international politics and an awareness of class systems. Dark and grimly compelling, The Inhumans is one story that won’t be forgotten any time soon.

So what does this all mean, what does it lead to? Hopefully Marvel is gauging the success of the motion comic, why not?! I think that the Inhumans would fit in perfectly to the continuity of a more obscure Phase 3. Joining the ranks of Ant-Man and Doctor Strange, the Inhumans would add the element of one more Illuminati, Black Bolt, only wetting the rumor mill of the idea of Planet/World War Hulk, Geeks can dream. I have been a big fan of the Inhumans for a long time now and I would love to see them get the Hollywood treatment. Rumor has it that Marvel will be modeling the movie after the concepts of Game of Thrones, something I’m still trying to picture, but I see more Shakespeare so bring back Kenneth Branagh!

Stay tooned 😛
