The months are falling away, yes the Hobbit is going on An Unexpected Journey, but just around the corner in 2013 Marvel Studios’ Phase 2 will begin. Here’s the latest rumors and news from the Frontline.

Is this the new Mark  XLVII armor, capable of controling all other Iron Man suits? Possibly. Shooting has moved to Miami. Updates here when they happen!

James Gunn came ‘under the gun’ when questioned by Chronicle director Max Landis, at MorrisonCon, about his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie and he couldn’t of course reveal too much, Gunn did state that they would do the movies with unknowns, they would do it, but did have this to say about other Marvel properties that he wanted to direct: “There’s only four comics properties that ever interested me in turning them into movies, one was ‘We3’  (Grant Morrison). The others were ‘Thunderbolts‘, ‘Hit Monkey‘…and ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy‘.” Gunn also states that Guardians was actually an easier of a project then his previous movie, the remake of Dawn of the Dead, that people have a such a preconceived idea of what zombies are that its easier to write a talking raccoon! In regards to a choice in an actor for the role of Rocket Racoon Gunn said:  “There’s such a long, long list for all our casting choices, we’ve barely begun.” I believe that once Captain America: The Winter Soldier gets rolling along, we will be seeing a slew of news from this film. You can catch up on the whole Max Landis/James Gunn debate over on ComicBookResources.
The SHIELD tv show is rolling along! I have to tell you after watching the Marvel One Shot Item 47, on The Avengers Blu-ray, I am getting more and more excited. Now we have some casting details courtesy of  TV Line:

SKYE: This late-20s woman sounds like a dream: fun, smart, caring and confident – with an ability to get the upper hand by using her wit and charm.

AGENT GRANT WARD: Quite the physical specimen and “cool under fire,” he sometimes botches interpersonal relations. He’s a quiet one with a bit of a temper, but he’s the kind of guy that grows on you.

AGENT ALTHEA RICE: Also known as “The Calvary,” this hard-core soldier has crazy skills when it comes to weapons and being a pilot. But her experiences have left her very quiet and a little damaged.

AGENT LEO FITZ and AGENT JEMMA SIMMONS: These two came through training together and still choose to spend most of their time in each other’s company. Their sibling-like relationship is reinforced by their shared nerd tendencies – she deals with biology and chemistry, he’s a whiz at the technical side of weaponry.

Whether these are the actual names, or not, of the characters in the show or a ruse to cover up the true Marvel Characters they are, matters little. What we have coming up is something that our nerd minds can hardly comprehend. We get to see the road to the Avengers’ movies play out on television. Something about this geek age amazes me. But I still say that Cobie Smulders moves on to this show, and reprises her role as Agent Maria Hill. At least part-time.

Iron Man 3 May 3 2013, GOTG sometime 2014, and SHIELD TV coming to ABC not soon enough!

Stay tooned 😛
