Marvel.com: Before you were even cast, were you one of those people who was wondering who the Cellist was that was referenced in the movie?

Amy Acker: I was, because I’m also a huge Clark Gregg fan. I’ve always been interested in what his storyline is going to be. It just seems like such a neat little piece to put in there. So when Clark was like, “Joss wrote the thing about the cellist in ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’ and [it’s] something that’s been really important to [me] all along,” I was excited.

Agents of Shield 02

A villain role was filled this week as well! Patrick Brennan (The Black Donnellys) will play the character Blackout in the upcoming episode, “Providence”. The character will be a little different from his comic book counterpart, as Blackout will have the ability to suck the energy out of things around him. Marvel has a great interview with Brennan, check out the excerpt below!

Marvel.com: How did your role as Marcus Daneils sort of come together?

Patrick Brennan: I had been in for “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” several times for other things, for other parts, and I know that they liked me so this came along and they actually offered it to me. I didn’t have to go in and read for it, which was a first for me. I didn’t know anything about the part, they kind of gave me the gist of it and then I had an in-depth conversation with a couple of the [producers] on the phone. And the whole time, I’m like, “You guys are putting me on, right? This is ridiculous. It’s so cool.”
