So, when I watch the latest trailer for Bad Time as the El Royale, all that I can think is that it’s a movie that probably should have been made in the 90s. It looks like one of those experiments that Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino did with 4 Rooms or even From Dusk til Dawn. It’s not a mainstream idea, it’s got a great cast of characters, it could either be great or be a flaming pile. Currently I’m on the fence. Casting is great and Drew Goddard (Cloverfield, Daredevil) is the writer/director. There’s a recipe for awesome, but I’m still not sure.
Seven strangers, each with a secret to bury, meet at Lake Tahoe’s El Royale, a rundown hotel with a dark past. Over the course of one fateful night, everyone will have a last shot at redemption… before everything goes to hell. Jeff Bridges, Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson and Cynthia Erivo lead an all-star cast in BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE.
