I’m not going to lie, when I first heard the name, The Fast & The Furious, I thought it sounded like the stupidest title for a movie ever. I didn’t know it was previously a movie, and at the time I wasn’t that big into car racing; so I begrudgingly got dragged to the movie and ended up being completely won over. The action was cool, the cars were just a backdrop (in my opinion) and it propelled Vin Diesel into the actor we know of him today.
After watching, Fast 5, I thought that they couldn’t get any better. Watching the trailer below, I just might stand corrected. Justin Lin is back to direct this installment, bringing back Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). All the rest of the crew come back as well, even the re-animated corpse of Michelle Rodriguez. This time it seems that Hobbs needs the help of Dom in order to stop a criminal kingpin in exchange for pardons from what happened in Rio.
Check out the explosive trailer and synopsis below! May 24th can’t come fast enough!
Here’s the official synopsis.
Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.
