For nearly a decade our universe has been drastically changed by introducing these superheroes into our lives and influencing our society.  From Iron Man to the Hulk, we can’t go anywhere without hearing their names as a symbol for hope and a brighter future.  They have defeated every foe and villain they’ve come across. These last two films will test them to the end.  Some might survive, some might not. Their adversary is someone they have never faced and it will take the entire Marvel Universe to take him down.

From the first two films, 2012 The Avengers, to 2015 Avengers: The Age of Ultron; the storyline hints that there is something more powerful and sinister waiting for them.  The anticipation and the bad omens tease us that the battles they have fought are a prelude for what is to come.  Adapted from the comic book, The Infinity Gauntlet, directors Anthony and Joe Russo blend humor, comedy, and action to deliver one hell of a film that spans galaxies in order to bring a well-developed plot and great special effects. It is a family reunion of the MCU that resembles a motley crew with awkward introductions, whimsical bantering and uncomfortable arguments you would normally see at a family cookout.  Watching the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes work together is like driving a well-oiled machine with all of its parts working as one.

This film felt like I was reading a Stephen King novel.  The characters are well developed with their own separate issues that in the end of the story they all come together to rally around each other in order to fight for the greater good.

Thanos, the big bad finally appears to retrieve a powerful weapon, the Infinity Gauntlet and its stones, and will stop at nothing to get it.  With the help of his henchmen, the Black Order, they fly around the galaxy in search for these missing pieces. For the first time we get to see the Mad Titan in action and it is impressive to watch.  The directors portray him in a way that you see him as the antihero and the genocidal ruler all bundled up in a large purple alien. Josh Brolin, who portrays the Mad Titan uses his voice and his motion capture talent to perfectly show the emotions and the ruthlessness of Thanos.

The special effects and the cinematography are amazing.  We get to see more of the universe both frightening and beautiful as the heroes fly around in space to prevent Thanos from getting the stones.  Spiderman’s new costume is pretty badass. It reminds me of a real spider. Thor’s new hammer is cool also. The final battle in Wakanda reminds me of the Revolutionary War where both British and American soldiers meet on the battle field to show strength before they charge to their death.

As the end draws near of this storyline, we must reflect how we got here.  It took nearly ten years of the MCU to accumulate the characters personalities, their individual struggles and triumphs and their loyalties towards one another.  I can tell you this, that even though the end is nigh, they will leave a lasting impression for generations to come. This film is great both action packed and drama driven.  The characters are complex, but relate-able. And at the end of this, it will leave you wanting more….literally!!!

I give this film four and a half out five movie stubs.

The heat was oppressive. Keri thought about the friction between the tire and the sticky hot asphalt. Tread chewing the thick rocks underneath thousands of pounds of pressure. Her mind drifted to something about diamonds. Cold air spat out occasionally from her...

First trailer for Robin Hood movie staring Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx

I like this Taron Egerton kid. He did a great job in the Kingsman films and I think he's got the makings of a fantastic action star. While I was hesitant to get invested in yet another Robin Hood film, it's one of those franchises that can be reinterpreted a million...

Millarworld unveils it’s plans for Netflix takeover!

I've made it pretty well known that Mark Millar is my favorite comic book writer out there. He creates characters that are often flawed, foul-mouthed, and always entertaining. When Netflix announced that it would be purchasing all of Millarworld; I flipped out. The...
