Elijah Wood has come a long way from The Shire in this new red-band trailer for the Maniac remake. From adventuring with his friends, to scalping women; this isn’t the Frodo that you fell in love with. The movie is being directed by Frank Khalfoun, whose previous work with P2; I thought it was a pretty great job. He’s teaming up with P2 writer, and director of some other pretty great remakes, Alexandre Aja (Pirahna, Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors). The trailer has me intrigued, but I only hope that someday Aja can go back to doing his own original work again. As much as I actually enjoy the remakes, my favorite movie by him is still High Tension. Check out the trailer below and judge for yourself!
