Its hard to think that it’s the 65th anniversary of Godzilla. I can remember watching Godzilla movies my entire life and it’s great that The King of All Monsters is still going strong after all these years. To celebrate the epic-ness, Mondo is releasing a whole apparel line devoted to the iconic kaiju. Read more about it below.

A spectacle on a scale unfathomable to the human mind, the monsters of Toho rise. Mondo is proud to announce the first in a series of officially licensed offerings with the legendary film company Toho Co., Ltd. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the monster who began it all, highlighted in Mondo’s comprehensive apparel and pin collection featuring Toho’s iconic kaiju Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and more. The collection will launch on Thursday, November 14th on MondoTees.com.
Says Chris Mowry, Associate Brand Manager at Toho, “What better way for Godzilla to celebrate 65 years of cinematic and pop culture history than to partner with the team at Mondo? Like the Godzilla brand itself, Mondo has something for everyone, and there are some exciting new products on the way that are sure to please both the new fans as well as the hardcore collectors out there.”
As the first of many thrilling Toho releases to come, this collection is the start of something new and exciting for Mondo apparel. In the coming months, Mondo will also reveal plans for additional Toho lines, including posters, tiki mugs, and statues.
“The Toho kaiju universe is utterly unparalleled,” says Allie Whalen, Mondo Creative Director. “It is a rich world of uniquely terrifying monsters that signify a greater battle between good, evil and the hubris of humankind. Toho has crafted a breadth of iconic character designs that are recognizable and revered. It is a monumental endeavor to pay homage to decades of this pop culture powerhouse, but Mondo is eager to connect with the pervasive subculture holding a torch for Godzilla.”

“‘What’s one property that you haven’t worked with yet, but you desperately want to?’ No question has surfaced more consistently at speaking engagements, convention appearances, and podcasts that I’ve been a part of,” says Whalen. “And my answer has always been the same: ‘Toho monsters.’ These fantastic creatures have entertained, inspired, and delighted me since childhood, and my love for them continues to this day. I’m ecstatic the Mondo has partnered with Toho and opened up a sandbox that I’ve long wanted to play in.”
