Not a day goes by where I don’t think about Dragons. The world needs more of them, and more fantasy films in general. Luckily my dreams will be answered next year in the form of the film, Seventh Son. It stars Jeff Bridges and Ben Barnes as warrior and padawan who embark on a journey to take down an evil queen played by Julianne Moore. The film looks like it’s going to be pretty fantastic, despite Dijimon Honsou‘s involvement. He’s a great actor, but he kinda ruined that other Dragon film, Eragon.

Here’s the official synopsis for Seventh Son:

In a time of enchantments when legends and magic collide, the sole remaining warrior of a mystical order (Oscar® winner Jeff Bridges) travels to find a prophesized hero born with incredible powers, the last Seventh Son (Ben Barnes). Torn from his quiet life as a farmhand, the unlikely young hero embarks on a daring adventure with his battle-hardened mentor to vanquish a dark queen (Julianne Moore) and the army of supernatural assassins she has dispatched against their kingdom.

The film also stars Kit Harington, Alicia Vikander, Olivia Williams, and Antje Traue. Seventh Son opens on January 17, 2014.
