Hey Towelites! Have you been enjoying our Star Wars: The Force Awakens Podcasts? We have had a ton of fun doing them and we hope that you not only enjoyed the movie but have seen it numerous times by now. Well after a long holiday season I am back to work on DFAT as much as I can handle so look forward to some Geekly articles popping up here and there from yours truly. Today we have some new information from that Galaxy Far, Far Away regarding The Force Awakens and what not. Oh and if you haven’t seen the movie yet beware SPOILAGE lies ahead!

Where’s Luke?Skellig Luke

This question not only plagued fans leading up to the film, but also during it’s entire runtime! Well thanks to Lucasfilm’s Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo we now know the name of the planet that Rey finds Luke on at the end of the film. That planet is called Ahch-To. New to the universe, we are all looking forward to knowing more about it as it is clearly stated that Luke went searching for the ORIGINAL Jedi Temple. Let’s hope that they revisit this more in the films and New Canon as I love the location, Skellig Michael (Ireland), where they filmed the scene.

Serkis on Snoke

Snoke official Entertainment Weekly

Entertainment Weekly has official been allowed to release the first internet images of Supreme Leader Snoke, who is played by the great mo-cap actor Andy Serkis. It is now being reported that Serkis has stated that Snoke is NOT Darth Plagueis, which has been the long running rumor about the character. Though this may all be a red herring to get people to stop talking and speculating about who Snoke really is, but who can blame the nerds right? Serkis claims that this is a new character that we’ve never met before from Star Wars canon. Here’s what Serkis had to say about Snoke to EW:

When we first started working on it, he had some rough notions of how Snoke was gonna look, but it really hadn’t been fully-formed and it almost came out of discussion and performance.
Supreme Leader Snoke is quite an enigmatic character, and strangely vulnerable at the same time as being quite powerful. Obviously he has a huge agenda. He has suffered a lot of damage. As I said, there is a strange vulnerability to him, which belies his true agenda, I suppose.

The scale of him, for instance, is one reason. He is large. He appears tall. And also just the facial design — you couldn’t have gotten there with prosthetics. It’s too extreme. Without giving too much away at this point, he has a very distinctive, idiosyncratic bone structure and facial structure. You could never have done it [in real life.]

Passing of the Fettboba fett wingreen

Before the prequels went about and gave us a backstory for the mysterious Boba Fett, we OT lovers knew a different voice for the famed bounty hunter. Jason Wingreen passed away over the holidays at the age of 95. Wingreen’s voice over was replaced in the latest round of Special Editions when Lucas decided that Fett should sound like a Clone. The physical role of Fett was played by actor Jeremy Bulloch. Wingreen played many roles throughout the years including appearances in The Untouchables, the Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Matlock, Mission: Impossible, Ironside, Kojak, Dr Kildare, The Fugitive, The Man from UNCLE, and Seinfeld.

Until next time Towelites, May the Force be with you!
