I had almost forgot that there was a new Hunger Games film coming out. I enjoyed the first movie, but found it instantly forgettable. The acting was mostly forced, and though I LOVED all the books; the movie didn’t come close to being a great adaptation. I’m hoping that with the upcoming sequel, Catching Fire, they fix some of the problems of the first film. Judging by the trailer below, it looks like they’re stepping in the right direction.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire:

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

What I particularly enjoyed about this trailer is that they focused more on the political aspects of this book, mixing it with a little of the third novel, Mockingjay. It’s definitely a teaser, because this was my favorite book; and the actual “games” portion of the novel is the best part. I can’t wait to see more of what they come up with!
