I’ve been a huge fan of Edgar Wright ever since I happened upon the BBC Series, Spaced. It was also my first introduction to Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and since then; we’ve all been best friends. The World’s End will finish off what the three of them refer to as the “Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy”. The film is about a bunch of childhood friends who reunite to go on a pub crawl, only to find out that their old town isn’t quite the same anymore. Check out the epic trailer below!
Here’s the official synopsis for The World’s End:
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
The film also stars: Eddie Marsan, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, and Rosamund Pike. The World’s End is due out in the U.S. on October 25th. Stay Tuned to DFAT for more news on the film!
