Another weekend and another great Box Office for Disney. Their latest entry in the Star Wars franchise, The Rise of Skywalker, was #1 again by taking in another $72 million. The film is now domestically sitting at $361 million and puts it just $7 million behind where The Last Jedi was at this time 2 years ago. The film is also doing gangbusters overseas as it’s Worldwide total now sits at over $700 million. Don’t be surprised if it crosses that $1 Billion threshold in less than a Month!

The two newcomers of the week also did pretty great this week with both Little Women and Spies in Disguise premiering in 3rd and 5th places, respectively. Little was able to take in $16 million and Spies in Disguise brought in $13 million over the 3-day weekend. In addition to those great numbers, Adam Sandler‘s latest film with A24, Uncut Gems, opened wide to 7th with $21 over the 5 day Holiday break. It makes it the biggest debut from the studio to date! Next weekend, we have a reboot/continuation of The Grudge franchise. This time around it stars John Cho and the previews look…good. I mean, it’s another Grudge film and no one really asked for one. It’ll be interesting to see how it does as the first film of 2020. Find out what happens in the next edition of Weekend Roundup!
