Looks like this was a good weekend to be Sony Pictures. Though, they’ve had a bit of a crappy year, with them putting all of their eggs in the Spider-Man basket; they finally have something to be proud of. The Idris Elba-starring movie, No Good Deed, came in at the #1 position with $24.5million dollars. Maybe that was their way of jabbing Marvel Studios and dethroning last week’s winner, Guardians of the Galaxy.

The other big win of the weekend was the family friendly, Dolphin Tale 2. The film brought in $16.2million and took the second position. The rest of the Top Ten didn’t come close, and you can check them out below.

1. No Good Deed $24.5 million

2. Dolphin Tale 2 $16.6 million

3. Guardians of the Galaxy $8 million

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles $4.8 million

5. Let’s Be Cops $4.3 million

6. The Drop $4.2 million

7. If I Stay $4.1 million

8. The November Man $2.8 million

9. The Giver $2.6 million

10. The Hundred-Foot Journey $2.5 million

I have a feeling that next week, a lot of these stragglers at the bottom of the list will fall off. There are four pretty big new releases including: A Walk Among the Tombstones, Tusk, This is Where I Leave You, and The Maze Runner. My money is on The Maze Runner as it has the most appeal, but we could see a mixup with something crazy like Tusk being #1.

What do you think will take the top spot next week? Sound off in the comments!
