The weekend after Labor Day is never a busy time at the Box Office, but that didn’t stop Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from being #1 again. The film brought in another $10.2 million and solidified it at the top of the charts once again. The rest of the films in the Top Ten struggled to compete with the sci-fi juggernaut and barely scratched the surface.
One huge failure was the faith-based Elvis film, The Identical, which didn’t even make it to the Top Ten. The film grossed $1.9 million and was barely edged out by Lucy. You can see the rest of the films results down below.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy $10.2 million
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles $6.5 million
3. If I Stay $5.8 million
4. Let’s Be Cops $5.4 million
5. The November Man $4.2 million
6. As Above/So Below $3.7 million
7. When The Game Stands Tall $3.7 million
8. The Giver $3.6 million
9. The Hundred-Foot Journey $3.2 million
10. Lucy $1.9 million
Next week, is the release of the thriller No Good Deed starring Idris Elba and Dolphin Tale 2. I have a feeling that with the colder weather and two horrible newcomers that Guardians can take the top spot once again. Stay Tooned next week to find out!
