Seeing a robot fight a monster is one of my favorite things in life. Watching Godzilla punch Mothra still is a high form of entertainment in my life. Thanks to Guillermo Del Toro, this childhood love of mine, is going to continue in the form of his upcoming creature-feature, Pacific Rim. In the film, the Kaiju’s threaten the planet and it’s up to the government to create the robotic Jaegers, in order to destroy the monsters that would destroy life as we know it.
The footage comes via Consumer Electronics Show. Warner Brothers mixed in some old footage from the first trailer and added a few clips to incorporate the technology that the humans huge to take out the Kaiju. Check out the great new footage below!
Pacific Rim opens July 12th, 2013 and stars: Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Brad William Henke, and Diego Klattenhoff.
