We’re about a month away from The Wachowski‘s newest film, Jupiter Ascending. While that film is wrapping up production, the duo are hard at work prepping another project with comic book writing legend, J. Michael Straczynski. Straczynski is best known for his work on Spider-Man and Thor, but he also has a rich background in television programs such as: Babylon Five, He-Man, and Murder, She Wrote. He’ll be taking that tv experience with him to Neflix, as The Wachowski’s and him work on a program called SENSE8.

jmsHere’s how Straczynski explained the plot:

“The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally. They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”

Sounds like we could be in for a pretty crazy ride with this one. I love the almost LOST element to it. It’ll be intereting to see something that’s more set in the real world, as opposed to something more space or time travel related as both Straczynski and The Wachowski’s are used to.

SENSE8 will make it’s premiere on Netflix later this year. It will be 10 episodes long and star: Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Doona Bae, Miguel Silvestri, Tena Desae, Max Riemelt, Jamie Clayton, Naveen Andrews, Daryl Hannah, Freema Agyeman, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, and Terrence Mann.
