We had the privilege of sitting down with the Steamforged Games team the last time we were at Toy Fair. At that point the company was pushing their Dark Souls board game adaptation and we had a blast playing it! When I learned that they were crowdfunding a Horizon Zero Dawn board game I was immediately on board. The quality of the miniatures and the mechanics of the Dark Souls game are amazing and it was almost enough to get me to buy it, HZD was a no-brainer for me. It is one of my favorite video games of all time and I think that it will translate very well to tabletop.

The Kickstarter campaign is about half over and it has well surpassed its original goal of 200K with over a million dollars of funding so far. The initial pledge, and there’s just one, will cost you about $130 and will get you the base set, a couple of expansions and all of the stretch goals. It is an amazing package to start with. If you want more you can purchase the add-ons after your pledge is made. This includes some of the larger monsters from the game along with soldier packs, The Frozen Wilds expansion and more. HOPEFULLY we get an “all-in” package towards the end of the campaign.

Head on over to the official Kickstarter page to check it out and most likely if you are a fan you’ll back it right away like I did. Check out some of the pics and a video demo of the game below, MAN I CAN’T WAIT TO PLAY THIS GAME!!
