As much as we all love the Skywalker Saga, well most of us, we also like what the rest of that galaxy far, far away has to offer. This is the issue that I believe many are struggling with when it comes to the expanding Star Wars universe and new Canon. Also, we ALL have been clamoring for a live-action Star Wars TV series for decades. This comes to an end now, thanks to The Mandalorian.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

This past weekend at Star Wars Celebration Chicago we got to watch a great panel for the upcoming Disney + Tv show and those lucky enough to be in attendance got a look at a sizzle reel and more. While most of us will have to wait a little longer for our official glimpse into the world that Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and company are putting together, here’s the panel if you want to watch it. The panel picks up about 15 minutes in so you’ll have to fast-forward.

A lot of exciting things are headed our way and I am super excited to hear that they are bringing back those western and Samurai movie feels. We’ve been waiting for something to unite the fans and this may be it. I have always been a fan of the TV show over the cinematic experience mainly because it gives the creators the opportunity to really flesh out characters and storytelling. There has been a tear in the fan-base over some ridiculous things, mostly not respecting others opinions or even complete disrespect at times. This is something that has bothered me a lot because it completely goes against what Star Wars is about and the message that it’s supposed to deliver. With great hope, I believe that The Mandalorian will change all of this and bind the fan-base together again. With news that the Star Wars movies will go on hiatus for a bit after The Rise of Skywalker and that Rian Johnson and the GOT boys are working together on a decade of films, it’s time to focus the energy on expanding the galaxy on TV and I can’t wait! Disney + goes live this November and The Mandalorian launches with it at the great price of $6.99 a month!
