I was a big fan of The Neverending Story when I was a kid, but when I recently watched it I wasn’t overly impressed. Some movies can stand the test of time and some can’t. For many this one can, but if any movie needs a “do-over” this is one of them. But one can’t deny the impact that the film had on them when they were a child, especially some of the traumatic scenes such as Atreyu’s horse, Artax, sinking into the Swamp of Sadness, or when Gmork (the scary wolf) is hunting Atreyu, or the first time you see the Rock Biter! All of these classic fantasy characters have re-imagined for the 21st century thanks to video game artist Nicolas Francoeur, who works for Eidos Montreal (Dues Ex, Thief), you can check out more of his work here and check out the gallery below for some great makeovers of your favorite characters.
