With Breaking Bad and Mad Men ending their series soon, AMC wants to milk as much as it can out of it’s main breadwinner, The Walking Dead. Creator Robert Kirkman and producers, Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert are creating a “companion series” that will be set at the same time, with all new characters. Kirkman says that the show will be completely original, not based off his comics. The series will air in 2015.
