I had the poster from the first Tomb Raider film above my bed, but not because I was a huge fan of the video games of the films. The films, starred Angelina Jolie, and were pretty horrible. Luckily, Square Enix took over the franchise and released an amazing video game this year and it brought Tomb Raider back to it’s roots and introduced some amazing story telling, and even more amazing action.
Hollywood has picked up on this and has hired Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Fright Night reboot scribe, Marti Noxon, to pen the script for the new Tomb Raider film. I’ve been a HUGE Buffy/Noxon fan for the last 15 years, so I’m in full support of this. There’s been no actress attached to the role, but it would be pretty cool Camilla Luddington, who mo-capped Laura Croft to life in the game, could play her in the film.
