A blur flew through the house. The blur was a young man by the name of Tyler. If you were to look closely, or happened to glance in the right direction in the right moment, you might see that this young man had a small brown package cradled in his arms like some important manifest. As of yet, it was only the canvas on which his manifest would be drawn.

Archie 1941 #4 (of 5) (Archie)

Mark Waid/Brian Augustyn (W) Peter Krause (A)

I think I can see the end coming and that is an interesting thing. This is less a book about Archie, and more a way to explore the troubles facing teenagers in the face of the threat and overwhelming dread of a looming war.

Books of Magic #3 (Vertigo)

Kat Howard (W) Tom Fowler (A)

This book is really fun. I’ve loved the concept for years, and this series seems to be breathing some much needed life into the concept. In a world with Harry Potter, how does this series forge its own path? Well, read this book and find the fuck out. Damn.

Justice League Odyssey #4 (DC)

Joshua Williamson (W) Phillippe Briones (A)

This book is starting to pick up. I was iffy on the first issue but the last one was really good and the second issue was a start towards the right path. I am intrigued to see where this goes.

The Silencer #12 (DC)

Dan Abnett (W) Jackson Herbert (A)

I can see the slow collapse of the New Age of Heroes happening and I am still concerned that the whole thing will be a pointless journey. That being said, at least we still have these books to entertain us until that happens.

Heroes in Crisis #4 (of 9) (DC)

Tom King (W) Clay Mann (A)

oh fuck. The internet is going to hate this issue. Look at that cover. I can hear the neck beards screaming.

Sword Daughter #5 (Dark Horse)

Brian Wood (W) Mack Chater (A)

This book became something wildly different from what I was expecting and that is very refreshing. I like being wrong, despite what my loved ones testify to their therapists.

Marvel Knights 20th #5 (of 6) (Marvel)

Donny Cate/Matthew Rosenberg (W) Niko Henrichon (A)

Every issue of this series has been a wonderful surprise. Donny Cates came up with the whole idea but it’s each issue’s writer that really brings the flavor to this series. Each issue is distinct and amazing and you need to read it.

Redneck #18 (Image)

Donny Cates (W) Lisandro Estherren (A)

Man. I loved this book before. I did. Then they started pumping out the good feels and I’m on a whole new level with the last arc. I can’t wait for them to bring back the heartbreak with my newly developed heart.

Tony Stark: Iron Man #7 (Marvel)

Dan Slott (W) Valerio Schiti (A)

This book is always a good time. I love his take on Tony and the supporting characters in his life being allowed to take the spotlight. It’s a solid book and it’s a solid object. I have not been able to pass through it.

The Terrifics #11 (DC)

Jeff Lemire (W) Viktor Bogdanovic (A)

OH NO! THE TEAM HAS BROKEN UP?!?!?! IS THIS THE NEW STATUS QUO? WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE PEOPLE ON THIS TEAM THAT ARE NOW BROKEN UP? HUH? TELL ME?

Wonder Woman #61 (DC)

G. Willow Wilson (W) Xermanico (A)

Aw fuck. The Gods are back and doing God stuff and that’s bad. Now it’s time for sexy God to do bad things to Steve Trevor. That’s bad, right? Yeah, he’s a taken man. Shame on you Aphrodite.

Detective Comics #995 (DC)

Peter J. Tomasi (W) Doug Mahnke (A)

Already love this run. That’s how good it is already. I love the detective aspect coming back in full force. Everyone love when Batman goes all “damaged Sherlock who dresses like a flying mammal.”

Runaways #17 (Marvel)

Rainbow Rowell (W) Kris Anka (A)

Man, this book keeps topping itself. I thought it was great before, but this last arc has been absolutely killing it. Doesn’t hurt that last issue was a good old fashioned Christmas issue. We all love those, right?

Immortal Hulk #11 (Marvel)

Al Ewing (W) Joe Bennett (A)

Still the best book that Marvel has been putting out. By far. It’s incredible, it’s ballsy, it’s new, fresh, and it’s dark. I love this stuff and I cannot wait to continue reading this book for a long time.

THE SAD BOI COMIC OF THE DECADE IS BACK! START THE NEW YEAR OFF WITH INTENSE DEPRESSION AND A FEELING OF OVERWHELMING IMPENDING DOOM!

Ripping off the wrapping with torrential hands, the boy uncovered the rich reward of nights spent at the local movie theater dishing out popcorn to acne pocked brats and sweater vest wearing adults. The box was black, making the contrast pop, making his heart leap. Before him, in the black box, was a perfectly white pair of sneakers. Seams, laces, rubber souls, canvas body, all white as snow. He reached for the chisel tip pen in his pocket and formed a tapestry of his short life.
