This week is nothing short of amazing. I mean seriously, I haven’t been this excited for every single issue that comes out in a week for a long time. It’s hard to when you follow as many comics as I do, but man, this week is gold. Dive into Top of The Stack.

Deadpool 41Deadpool #41 (Marvel)

Gerry Duggan (W) Salva Espin (A)

You know it’s going to be a good week when Deadpool ends up at the Top of the Stack. I am really enjoying this series, just to be clear. I am actually pretty sad that this series is ending, but like all endings, it’ll be fun to read, if not a little sad.

Spiderman 8Spider-Man 2099 #8 (Marvel)

Peter David (W) Will Sliney (A)

This series is very fun, and while I’m glad that it’s tying into Spider-Verse, I am eager for it to return to the main story. The tie ins for this story feel a little forced, despite adding depth to the Steam-Punk inspired Spider-Character, Lady Spider. I am looking forward to this series but more so the post-event stories.

Colder 4Colder: The Bad Seed #4 (Dark Horse)

Paul Tobin (W) Juan Ferreyra (A)

This series is dark. Not in a gory way, although it has it’s fair share of mutilation, but in a sanity testing way. The way the art wraps itself around the two worlds portrayed in the story, sanity and insanity, is as mesmerizing as it is discombobulating. A great return to a great story so far, excited to see how the last two issues of arc one play out.

Batman Eternal 43Batman Eternal #43 (DC)

James Tynion IV (W) Victor Olazaba/ Scott Hanna (A)

With Bluebird’s first full on issue, we are finally in the future that was teased all the way in the “preview” issue of Batman, number 28. From here on out, we cannot know what will happen to these characters and that excites me.

Secret Avengers 12Secret Avengers #12 (Marvel)

Ales Kot (W) Michael Walsh (A)

The series is coming to a close and I am sad. That being said, Ales Kot has stated that the series was only ever supposed to last fifteen issues, so I guess that’s better than being canceled. Still sad, I love this quirky heartfelt story.

Inhuman 11Inhuman #11 (Marvel)

Charles Soule (W) Ryan Stegman (A)

This series has been nothing but great from the gate. Very interested in seeing how Medusa reels from her own actions during AXIS. That along with some fantastic development for two of our more mysterious characters make me eager to dive back in.

Thor 4Thor #4 (Marvel)

Jason Aaron (W) Russel Dauterman (A)

The battle we have been waiting for is finally here, Thor vs. Odinson. The God who once wielded Mjolinir is back, drunk, and rightfully pissed off. Maybe we finally get to see who this mysterious woman, who has stepped into the spot Thor vacated, is.

The Life After 6The Life After #6 (Oni Press)

Joshua Hale Fialkov (W) Gabo (A)

This series is really really fantastic. I know I’m running out of adjectives. Very high concept with tons of pay off in every issue while never fully revealing their hand. Well, paced, very interesting, and a down right shame more people aren’t talking about this one.

Uncanny Avengers 1Uncanny Avengers #1 (Marvel)

Rick Remender (W) Daniel Acuña (A)

After the ending of Axis, I am thrilled to see what Remender does with Uncanny Avengers. I read the first eight issues of the first Uncanny Avengers series and passed on it. I was young, naive, and completely out of my gourd. This series has been receiving fantastic reviews and I am going to go back and read the original run.

Multiversity GuidebookMultiversity Guidebook (DC)

Grant Morrison (W) Nicola Scott (A)

Are you experiencing confusion in the face of a gigantic multiversial catastrophe? Fear no more, your favorite team, Morrison and Scott, are here to help you through this troubling time. All for the cost effective price of $7.99. Wait, seriously? That’s ridiculous.

Bitch Planet 2Bitch Planet #2 (Image)

Kelly Sue DeConnick (W) Valentine De Landro (A)

The first issue of this series was awesome. I really love how the story unfolded and I see a ton of potential coming from this, but you already knew that. I mean It’s Kelly Sue DeConnick, what else would you expect. But in all seriousness pick this one up if you haven’t already.

Rasputin 3Rasputin #4 (Image)

Alex Grecian (W) Riley Rossmo (A)

I really love how they are approaching this character. With no shortage of magic and supernatural occurrences, this story of a real man is more like a fairy tale than a biography. They said this comic is essentially a pitch for a movie, well, I’m sold.

Theyre Not Like Us 2They’re Not Like Us #2 (Image)

Eric Stephenson (W) Simon Gane (A)

From the man who brought me one of my favorite series of all time, cut way too short, comes a story of some kids who realize they have powers and join forces. The only problem? Their motives are shady and this sanctuary is beginning to look more like a cult.

The Dying and The Dead 1The Dying & The Dead #1 (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Ryan Bodenheim (A)

Teased as Indiana Jones with old people, I can’t wait for this series. With Hickman at the helm of another series, I find myself throwing more money at this man. The previews are nothing short of stunning and he seems to be embracing his favorite“blue and red” imagery. Seriously, this guy loves blue and red.

Zero 14Zero #14 (Image)

Ales Kot (W) Jordie Bellaire (A)

Leaving us at a pretty volatile situation, things seem to be coming together in this comic very fluidly. With some crazy reveals in the last issue, I am bracing for a badass issue this week. Although something tells me there is more to it than we can see. Call it a hunch.

Sex Criminals 10Sex Criminals #10 (Image)

Matt Fraction (W) Chip Zdarsky (A)

This series has continued to be one of my favorite series since it came out, and with the second arc coming to a close, I haven’t been disappointed. It’s funny, sharp, and very real. These are people who I could actually believe exist in the world today and that’s something of a feat for writers. With the need to create issues, both of the comic and problems, often times characters are blown out or made needlessly quirky. This series stays away from that and creates an enthralling story without those tricks. Good job you guys!

Batman 38Batman #38 (DC)

Scott Snyder (W) Greg Capullo (A)

THIS SERIES IS AMAZING. I am honestly struggling, when deciding which one should be my top pick, because both this and New Avengers have been blowing my socks off. I can’t give away too much about this upcoming issue, but lets just say someone close to Batman is, well, no longer so close.

New Avengers 29New Avengers #29 (Marvel)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Kev Walker (A)

I had to choose this one as the top this week because of the issue of Avengers that just came out. Every once in a while I’ll read something that makes my jaw drop, that was two weeks ago. Avengers blew my freaking mind, and it’s all because of the things that have been happening in New Avengers. I am super excited to see what comes of this.

Holy crap, you guys, this week has me giddy. I mean really, I can’t wait for this Wednesday. Share in my excitement and go to your local comic shop this week. Trust me they don’t bite. Until next week, stay smart.
