Duncan Jones is making a Warcraft movie, and I think that’s going to be amzing. He doesn’t start shooting until early next year, but at Blizzcon over the weekend, he released some news about the film as well as shared some concept art images of his ideas. On hand, was also special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer (Life of Pi, The Golden Compass) to also chat about the film. Check out all the goodies below!
- The first script had to be thrown out by Jones because it focused more on the humans
- It’s now more of both the Humans and the Orcs. It’s “red vs blue”
- Warcraft will tell “the story of Anduin Lothar versus Durotan
- Duncan is finding it a hard time to find the right actor. “It’s been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan,” said Jones. “Every time I meet an actor I just try to squish his face.”
- Westenhofer wants the characters to be in makeup, NOT CGI
- They are making real swords for the film that the actors can wield
