In the middle of Lent, when people give up all of their favorite foods because of religion, is always the perfect time to put out a faith-based film. What could be more religious than the story of Noah and his wonderful Ark? Darren Aronofsky‘s, Noah, had the best timing to become a hit. The film opened to tepid reviews, but reviews don’t really matter when you pull in $44  mil on opening weekend.

The other newcomers, Sabotage and The Raid 2, didn’t fare quite as well. Granted, the latter only came out as a limited release. Arnie and company put out a real bomb though, the film only brought in $5.3 and will most likely fall off the Top Ten next weekend when Captain America: Winter Soldier gets released next week. Below, are the rest of the Box Office results.

Given that Captain America 2 is currently at a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, there’s no doubt in my mind that the film will be #1. Not only is it a Marvel film, it’s also getting lauded as the best Marvel movie ever made. Will that be the case? Stay Tuned for the next Weekend Roundup and find out here at DFAT!
