Who knew that a bunch of ‘foodimals’ would equal out to Box Office gold? Well, the makers of Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 must have known something, because the film is #1 this week. Beating out newcomers: Rush, Don Jon, and Baggage Claim; the film brought in over $35mil!

There wasn’t much doubt that Cloudy 2 was going to win, but it’s a little surprising that Ron Howard‘s, Rush, didn’t make more money than it did. It’ll still get an Oscar nod though I’m sure. The Butler is still sticking in the Top Ten as it rounded off with an overall gross of $110mil. Next week, we will see Alfonso Cuaron come back to the screen, with Gravity. The film will definitely take the top spot back from the animated feature with both IMAX and 3D releases.
