Oh, what’s this? A wild Weekly One Up appears?
It’s the last Weekly One Up of July. It’s been a hot one, so I hope everyone has stayed cool with some of their favorite games.
We’ve got a few more for you this week that we hope you’ll enjoy.
First up is Hamsterdam. Yes, it is a game about a hamster, who is trying to avenge the destruction of his home by taking revenge on those responsible. It mixes some bawdy elements (Hamsterdam has a red light district!) and adorable rodent animations. I actually had the opportunity to play it at RetroGameCon in Syracuse last year and, while the fight mechanics took some getting used to, it’s a cute, fun beat-em-up that will delight a wide range of gamers.
The Church in the Darkness is definitely a more serious game, dealing with a cult in the forest. You follow the investigation of a law enforcement official who goes to locate his nephew, who has been welcomed into their embrace.
However you choose to deal with the church will have consequences, so maybe don’t go in like a wrecking ball unless, well, that’s how you deal with most things.
And, it’s that time of year again where Training Camps are kicking off and Madden NFL 20 is out with this year’s roster of pros. For some of us, it’s the only way our teams will ever have a winning season, so it’s well worth the $60 to live with the illusion of success.
