Everyone’s back in their groove, I hope, now that we’re halfway through September. Yes, I too have been caught unaware of how far into the month we have gotten. The Back-to-School Sales have given way to spooky decor at the big box shops and it’ll be only a matter of time before we’re getting hounded to buy gifts for Christmas.
But let’s enjoy the simple pleasures in the last full week of Summer, shall we?
Niffelheim, which has been out on PC for a while, comes to Xbox One, Switch and the PS4 this week. It’s a side-scrolling adventure based in Nordic Lore. You were a brave warrior who got lost on the way to the afterlife and fight, craft and build your way across the harsh Niffelheim.
With elements similar to Kingdom and Jotun, fans of either game may find entertainment with Niffelheim.
Rebel Cops, the spin-off of This Is the Police, pits the “good guys” against the mob. You’re the leader of a Robin Hood-esque group of officers trying to take the town back. Failure has brutal consequences and death is pretty permanent. Gather your group and plan carefully.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening comes to the Switch, timed conveniently with the release of the Switch Lite, which has all the portability of the Switch at not that much less cost. But if you only want a portable, it’s not a bad deal.
The choice of art style with The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a departure from the relative realism of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which blew players away and catapulted the Switch into prominence.
In The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Link arrives on an island and is tasked with awakening the Wind Fish. The typical puzzles and action ensue. The characters themselves look absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to see how this installment of the series performs with the fans.
