Let’s start off by saying that everything that’s about to be written is a RUMOR. The good people over at Latino-Review believe that they have found out the information from the Spidey Summit, and that Sony avengers comic spidermanand Marvel have brokered a deal to see your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man show up in the Marvel
Cinematic Universe. I WISH I could be telling you there was an official press release for this news, but we haven’t gotten there yet. In the meantime, let me take you down the road filled with speculation, conjecture, and potential spoilers. Enter at your own risk, you’ve been warned.

Let’s start off with what happens chronologically, starting at the end of Age of Ultron. We will see the beginning of a new group of Avengers, led by Steve Rogers. That’s not a big shock there with the introduction of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Then we have Ant-Man, nothing crazy there. Now, the good stuff. Civil War will start off with Iron Man learning that Bucky killed his pops, and Cap having to defend him. The movie will end up with Cap getting killed by Crossbones (like the comic) and Bucky taking over as Cap. Somewhere along the way, Hulk will end up getting shipped off to space and possibly Iron Man goes to either rescue him or meet up with the Guardians…we shall see.

So, how does Spidey work his way into all this Casey? I’m getting there, just bear with me a bit. Next up in the timeline we have Black Panther and Doctor Strange. How do they fit in? Well, Thor: Ragnarok will have the God of Thunder being placed in a prison, so now we have Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor all missing. marvel civil warWhose gonna take up the mantle of these missing Avengers? Exactly.

Okay, now to Spider-Man. It’s rumored that it’s too late to have him fit into Civil War, though I don’t believe that. If Sony and Marvel did in fact get things ironed out, it would make all the sense in the world to get him thrown into at least the post-credits sequence of Civil War. Everyone on the planet knows who Spider-Man is, we don’t need an intro/beginning to the character. Simply have Tony say “Thanks for accepting the position that Dr. Banner had here at Stark Towers Mr. Parker” Then Peter turns to the camera and says “Oh no worries, I was in the NEIGHBORHOOD and happy to SWING BY.” BOOM! Cheesy? I don’t care, it’s freaking SPIDER-MAN IN THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE!

If that isn’t going to happen that way? Well, then the actual rumor is that he shows up in Infinity War as part of the Avengers. The first part of the movie is with a whole new set of Avengers, and part two will be people coming back. Cap back to life (It happens, look it up), Thor gets outta jail, Hulk battles his way outta space, etc. I hope that we see Spidey sooner than 2018, but we shall just  have to wait and see.

What are your thoughts on Spider-Man potentially making his way to the MCU? How would you like him to be introduced? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
