So things are not exactly as they seem! As we reported last week, Bryan Singer had Tweeted that both Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan would be returning as their respective roles as Prof X and Magneto. BUT not according to them, check out these quotes from the two veterans:

McKellan: “I have to say I haven’t signed a contract, nor have I read a script,But when Bryan Singer calls, on the whole, I follow.”

Stewart:  “Bryan let the cat out of the bag on Twitter, and it included announcing that Sir Ian and myself were going to be in this movie,” I know nothing about this project. And I’m hoping that might change in the future. I don’t know that we’re doing it, I have not signed a contract yet. I know there is a project in development, but we have no dates. No detailed casting. Thrilled to hear that my dear friend and colleague Ian McKellen is on board, but I’m sorry, you know, you need to understand, I’m not being cute. I know nothing.”

While this all seems a bit disappointing, both actors has showed a lot of enthusiasm in returning to the roles so I’m sure that we will see some sort of official announcement in the near future. Singer Tweeted the following image of the front page of the movie’s script, which is a quote from Charles Darwin’s Origin of the Species. Perhaps it will be the opening quote from the new movie!

“As new species are formed through natural evolution, others will become rarer and rarer, and finally extinct. The forms which stand in closest competition with those undergoing modification and improvement will naturally suffer most.”

Get excited fans, I think this movie is going to be the best one yet!

Stay tooned 😛
