Knightmare Tower: It’ll Appeal to Some
I recently volunteered to review Juicy Beast’s Knightmare Tower. The premise is fairly simple: a knight has been tasked by a carrier pigeon to rescue the Princesses and save the day.
Only you’re not about to embark on an RPG adventure where you gather your comrades and go forth, instead you’re hacking and slashing your way through enemies trying to stay ahead of boiling lava as you proceed up a nightmarish tower to rescue the ladies.
The controls are simple, so simple in fact that I could not actually use them to play the game. There is also some implication that you can use an Xbox 360 controller to play it. Which is apparently false as when I tried to use mine in order to play the game better, I couldn’t actually move my knight, I could only attack things. This led me to believe that my controller didn’t work, something I quickly disproved by using it in Borderlands 2.
The game gets some great reviews on Steam and is part of the Summer Sale. If this game seems like it is up your alley, go for it. It is evidently a port of a Flash game which is available for free online.
It’s really cute aesthetically and the controls, presumably once you figure them out, are very intuitive. It just wasn’t for me.
Was I missing something that would have made my experience better? Let me know in the comments!
