Production on the first film of Marvel Studios’ Phase 3 has begun! Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and Marvel Studios have officially announced that the turbulent project is under way and they have added a few more actors to the cast. Three additional actors have been announced and they include: John Slattery, Judy Greer, and rap star T.I.. No word on who the latter two will portray, but you may remember Slattery from Iron Man 2 when he played a very “Walt Disney” esque, Howard Stark.
Slattery will reprise his role and will be featured in flashback scenes, most likely dealing with Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym. I myself am a little disappointed as I wanted them to feature Dominic Cooper in the role once again, but we may have to hold out for the Agent Carter series for that. My speculation was that Hank Pym would be a regular character on the new show. But who knows what will happen. What I am looking forward to is the fact that Ant-Man will be a heist movie, and you all know how much we love our heist movies here at DFAT!!
Ant-Man is scheduled for release on July 15th, 2015!
Stellan Skarsgard will be making another return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Looks like the star will be showing up in his fourth Marvel film, and is set to appear once again as Dr. Erik Selvig in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here’s what Skarsgard had to say in an interview with Total Film.
A“First of all, I don’t know what I’m allowed to say. But usually they call me in if they need something explained. There’s a lot of explanations to do wen it comes to that universe.
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1st, 2015!
UPDATED!!
Looks like Adrianne Palicki will finally get her shot at being a superhero! She has been cast as Bobbi Morse, aka Mockingbird, and will play a major part in the upcoming second season! Palicki was originally attached to the failed Wonder Woman TV show that fell off the radar a few years ago.
Remember that alien equation that Agent Coulson started etching into a wall at the end of season one? Well it has appeared on a billboard in Hollywood! I’m sure a majority of the people who have seen this out and about have no idea what it is. But for those of us who do, I think this is a pretty amazing marketing capaign! I can’t wait for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to return!
