In a bit of weird casting news, we are happy to announce that Danny Woodburn has been cast as Master Splinter in the upcoming Ninja Turtles film. Woodburn is best known for playing ‘Mickey’ on Seinfeld, but has kept up on acting in films such as: Mirror Mirror and Santa Buddies.
Since, the film will be a mix of live action as well as cgi, it’ll be interesting to see Woodburn get the mo-cap treatment. I’m fine with Woodburn taking on the role, though it’s definitely not someone I would have ever guessed to play the sensei Rat. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens!
The film also stars: Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, and Noel Fisher as the turtles. With Megan Fox as April O’ Neil and Will Arnett in an unspecified role. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and is due out June 6th, 2014.
