It’s been a bit of time since we saw Pierce Brosnan kicking some butt. He’s been taking the dramatic and/or comedy route since he left being James Bond, but he’s back to his action roots in The November Man. He plays an ex-CIA agent who has to train a new recruit.

The trailer below looks entertaining, if not generic. I hate to compare every older person blowing things up to Taken, but it’s gonna happen; and this film, is no Taken. I’ll rent it though for sure!

Here’s the official synopsis for The November Man:

Code named ‘The November Man’, Peter Devereaux (Pierce Brosnan) is a lethal and highly trained ex-CIA agent, who has been enjoying a quiet life in Switzerland. When Devereaux is lured out of retirement for one last mission, he must protect valuable witness, Alice Fournier, (Olga Kurylenko). He soon uncovers this assignment marks him a target of his former friend and CIA protégé David Mason (Luke Bracey). With growing suspicions of a mole in the agency, there is no one Devereaux can trust, no rules and no holds barred.

The November Man opens August 27th.
