I’ll fully admit that I’ve never seen the original, Troll film. I don’t think that I’m missing much when I say that. Troll 2 on the other hand is a tour de force. The film is hilarious in its horrible-ness and it cracks me up the whole time. Scream Factory is giving it another fantastic blu-ray treatment, and if you’re a fan of schlock, this one is not to be missed!
I have also never seen the original Man from U.N.C.L.E. television series. Myself, and most of the movie-goers my age have all probably not seen that movie, and it’s probably why it made no money in the theatre. I did hear it was a great movie, but when you ahve a spy film like Mission Impossible 5 out, there really was no reason to go to the theatre to watch this film. It may be worth to get on disk though.
The Hobbit films get a lot of flack. Specifically because they are too long and too kiddie. This Extended Edition for Battle of the Five Armies is Rated R. I know we’re not going to see any Orc on Elf action, which means it’s for violence. Now you have me intrigued Mr. Jackson.
I don’t know much about Truman Capote, but I do know that In Cold Blood is his most famous work. This film is also amongst one of the greatest of all time so I’m sure it’s worth the price of admission.
Finally, the Collected Works of Hayao Miyazaki is a guaranteed must-have for anyone’s film collection. His movies have transcended animation, time, and cinema. They are always beautiful and usually a big heartbreaking. This collected set is definitely on my top picks for the Holiday Season.
