I stared at the moldy Moonpie on the table. A fruit fly buzzed around a cold cup of coffee. My brain was slowly processing where I was. A cool breeze brushed against my legs. I was wearing a robe. How long had I been sitting like this? The pool behind me was emerald green with life. Strange satellites of algae floated on the surface. Tadpoles swarmed near the edges of the pool. Who long have I been here?

Hawkeye #9 (Marvel)

Kelly Thompson (W) Leonardo Romero (A)

I love Madam Masque any time she’s in a comic I get a little excited. She seems to be becoming Kate’s arch nemesis too, so maybe more of this, thank you.

Green Arrow #28 (DC)

Ben Percy (W) Juan Ferreyra (A)

I really love this team-up arc. I makes me crave for a team-up book. Real bad like. Seriously just give me a Green Arrow/Green Lanterns or Green Arrow/Flash or something. Please. I’ll love you better.

Avengers #10 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Mike Del Mundo (A)

Enough of the tie-ins thank you!

Iron Fist #6 (Marvel)

Ed Brisson (W) Mike Perkins (A)

Super excited for this. I love Shang-Chi, any book with him in it makes me a happy camper. Now that Brisson has gotten the mandatory Game of Death arc out of the way, I’m excited to see where he goes with this title.

Black Bolt #4 (Marvel)

Saladin Ahmed (W) Christian Ward (A)

Oh shit. Are we about the get real sympathetic with Crusher Creel? Sounds like we may be having some feeling about this one.

Elsewhere #1 (Image)

Jay Faerber (W) Sumeyye Kesgin (A)

Love this writer, love this idea, extra love this artist. What’s not to love about this comic. Tell me. TELL ME! I NEED YOU TO TELL ME! IT’S THE ONLY WAY TO BREAK THE CURSE!

Champions #11 (Marvel)

Mark Waid (W) Humberto Ramos (A)

Enough with the fucking tie-ins pt 2: Bring my fucking stories back edition.

Jessica Jones #11 (Marvel)

Brian Michael Bendis (W) Michael Gaydos (A)

Yup, they made me feel bad for Maria Hill. The fuckers. The fucking fuckers.

Slasher #3 (Floating World Comics)

Charles Forsman (W) Charles Forsman (A)

This comic is dark. Maybe too dark and uncomfortable for most readers. I on the other hand, fucking love it and suggest you should at least look into it.

Seven To Eternity #8 (Image)

Rick Remender (W) James Harren (A)

This comic is pessimistic. Fits with my agenda, so you should be reading it if you are a Top of The Stack completionist. It really gets you in my head. Bath in the sadness.

Batman #28 (DC)

Tom King (W) Mikel Janin (A)

This arc is fucking amazing. I’ll fight you if you don’t agree. Kite Man even gets some solid redemption. Hell yeah.

East of West #34 (Image)

Jonathan Hickman (W) Nick Dragotta (A)

Expect big things in this issue. It’s the end of an arc and you know how Hickman likes to fuck with us right before a break. Get ready to have your heart cleaved in twain, you won’t even be mad about it. Trust me.

Sex Criminals #20 (Image)

Matt Fraction (W) Chip Zdarsky (A)

Everyone’s favorite sexy time comic is ending another arc. Hopefully it comes back faster than it came back after the last arc. Oh, well. Brimpers can’t be choosers.

A faint copper smell filled my nose. A spark of electricity. This neighborhood was empty. Houses overgrown with vines and moss. Shattered windows, privacy invaded. I coughed up a little blood. This couldn’t be my home. It looked familiar, but not true. Like someone had created it from a photo. The life was gone, in a figurative sense. All around life thrived. Nature reclaiming the suburbs. Birds scattered from the bushes lining my house. I wasn’t alone.
